Bernie was a Shark before being traded to Buffalo for Brian Campbell. He was later sent to the Vancouver Canucks where he would be recognized as the team's unsung hero by being awarded the Fred J. Hume award. This Set 1 jersey shows lighter wear with stick marks, board burns and small holes on the sleeves. There is some material snagging and loose threading throughout with very light pilling on the right cuff. In addition to having been worn up until Trevor Linden Night on 12/17/2008, this was also worn when Bernier fought Dion Phaneuf on opening night (see video). This fight tore the back of the jersey where the fight strap is attached and there are now three large repairs (3.5" - 5") to re-secure it. The NHL-Meigray set patch is sewn inside the back hem and is accompanied by a Canucks LOA. It has been photo-matched (burns on the green stripe on the right sleeve and loose threading).
