This jersey is from Detroit's first of two consecutive Stanley Cup seasons and displays all the effort of what went into attaining that goal. Lapointe's jersey shows great stick marks and material snagging. He has taken about 4 inches of material in to shorten the hem and has added extra material in the sleeves to widen the cuffs. The unrepaired holes in the sleeves could very well have been from a goal he scored against the Habs while sliding in on his arms. Video of that memorable goal shows a match with this jersey.
